Keep your freshest fruits, vegetables, and sauces preserved with the wide mouth lid for Choice canning / mason jars. This lid can tightly seal your wide mouth canning jars to preserve the contents against contamination. To prepare your lid for sealing, place it in a pot and cover it with water. Bring the water to a simmer (180 degrees Fahrenheit / 80 degrees Celsius) for 10 minutes before using which will to activate the sealing compound.
When heated during the canning process, the soft sealing material on the underside of the lid seals in freshness and prevents oxygen and bacteria from entering the jar. Pair with a compatible band (sold separately) to help keep the lid securely in place. However, the lid’s soft sealing functionality is single-use only.
